The Summer Solstice marks a profoundly intense moment in the year - where heat, light, and vibrancy reach their peak, yet the term "Solstice," derived from Latin, implies a moment of standing still.
This period is deeply sacred, with everything illuminated for contemplation. It serves as a vivid reminder of our synchronicity with nature, as our energy inevitably shifts with each new season, bringing forth new themes to integrate into our lives. It's inevitable that our lifestyle during this time differs significantly from that of the Winter Solstice.
How can we ease our grip and embrace this change, knowing that we will transition into autumn as September approaches? One approach is to simply pause and be.
December is a time for outward exuberance, partying, and frenetic social diaries but nature is calling on us to do the opposite: to slow down, retreat, reflect inwards and observe. With the seasonal celebrations on the horizon, this retreat made space for some time out allowing inner connection and grounding to gather the vitality and energy to carry the wonderful women who came and joined us through the festive weeks to come.
Hosted in a peaceful hidden spot in South London, surrounded by nature, this retreat was an afternoon of yoga, meditation, massage, Reiki, nourishing food and good tunes.
I assisted Jo Fox of Back to Nature retreats for the fifth time, going back to the beautiful Atlas Kasbah, an eco-lodge in the Atlas mountains which is one of the most stunning and relaxing retreat settings I have ever been to.
